Scope:
The Cogeneration Plant consists of a gas turbine capable of producing 3.8 Megawatts of electricity and a heat recovery steam generator capable of producing 85,000 lb/hr of steam at 225 psig.
Summary:
Grodsky was hired by The Energy Networks Group as the Construction Manager to design and install a cogeneration facility within their existing plant in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. Roughly 60% of the electricity that is produced powers The Energy Networks’ chiller plant which distributes chilled water to buildings throughout the city of Hartford, while the remaining 40% is sold to Connecticut Light & Power.
Unique Features:
The steam that is produced by the plant is distributed to and fulfills the heating needs of more than 50% of the businesses throughout the downtown area.
