Scope:
HVAC and Plumbing. The project consists of: complete medical gas (O2, med air, vacuum all tied into the existing system), a new RTU on the new roof of the addition, a new cooling tower to be installed on the existing roof, a new chiller in existing penthouse, 2 new water heaters in the penthouse, and complete plumbing and storm drain service.
Summary:
Grodsky is responsible for the plan and spec and design assist for the 17,600 square foot addition onto the Baystate Wing Emergency Room.
Unique Features:
The new piping installation into an active facility will require scheduling, infection control containment and coordination among staff and contractors. Shutdowns will be a challenge due to the active status of the medical facility. The goal will be to have as little impact as possible on patients and staff.
